Employees fun learning format
The client
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer.
The challenges
Our client needed a standard approach to contractor procurement. However, they were
struggling to establish a consistent and interesting learning method across all
their sites. They also lacked a method or tools for measuring how well knowledge
was retained.
The company had relied on classroom-based, PowerPoint presentations to present complex
and content-heavy material. While this information was crucial, feedback from participants
showed that the existing course was “boring” and they didn’t remember
key information. The challenge for TCI was to transform the material into interesting,
interactive learning that all participants would understand and remember.
The goals
The courseware had to:
- be updated and revamped to reflect only important information
- be interactive and user-friendly
- cater to a wide variety of users and different levels of software competency
- be available at any time or location the client chose
- be able to track employees’ progress and the completion of modules
- contain assessments to ensure that participants had retained the information presented.
The solution
After consulting with us, the client decided on an innovative eLearning solution
that reflected TCI’s philosophy of simple, effective and surprising online
training.
Working with them, we edited the existing material so that it more concisely reflected
the company’s business objectives and procedures. We then translated this
material into online, interactive animations, instructional case studies, quizzes,
graphics, and simple, easy-to-understand blocks of information.
The company was able to track the progress of employees through the learning management
system (LMS).
The results
The client was thrilled with the eLearning solution provided by TCI, reporting that:
- the modules met all business objectives
- the information was being retained by participants, and this was now easy to track
through the LMS
- participants no longer complained of “boring and difficult” content,
and were happy to work their way through the new “fun” format, when
and where it suited them.
